There's a nice atmosphere - it's small enough to know everyone and big enough not to get boring. The Clan are great, the magazine peeps occasionally pop in for a chat and the ECTS trip was good. If you need to know something, there's always someone who will know the answer.

The best thing about the Forum that we've all come to know and love is the wide mix of people who are in it. It's not dominated by people who think they rule the roost; everyone's welcome. Unless they like sausages more than cheese. It's got a friendly atmosphere and has more of a community feel than most forums. Anyone's welcome, there's no hostility to newcomers and the discussions are always of a high quality.

Although I was aware of Internet communities, I was always wary of them. My initial foray into the Future Gamer Forum was subdued; I was happy to watch and listen but reticent to participate. After a while I got the feel of the place, chose a nick and started to make comments. When that went okay, I started to post my own threads. These were universally ignored. However, I persevered and I'm pleased to say that I now feel I've been accepted. It's a good community and there's a healthy number of regulars who are always present to keep discussions running. There are also frequent postings from newbies, some who are encouraged to stay, some who disappear into the night. Discussions are varied, sometimes irrelevant (in terms of games and gaming), but always entertaining. On the downside, the technology occasionally lets us down and some of the arguments can degenerate into rather extreme areas of abuse, but when a group of individuals meet to discuss topics, differences of opinion do occur and that's what makes it all so very enjoyable. Oh, and it would appear that "Console War" arguments have also stopped [crosses fingers].

So there you have it. I hope you enjoyed our brief travel into the weird and wonderful world of the Forum. Remember, it's only a click away and there's always something interesting to talk about. Now lets say a poem in respect of the Forum. Actually, let's not - Felix wants to write it...
