So I can be anyone in the league, right?
Anyone in the Premiership. You can't be Port Vale. Or Carlisle.
Why's it called Premier League and not Premiership?
Dunno.
Where do babies come from?
Jesus wept...
Is it a decent arcade game?
It seems to fall between two stools, really. As an arcade game it's okay, but it's not as good as FIFA '99 and nowhere near as good as Actua Soccer 3, the leviathan of PlayStation football games. It relies heavily on the Premier League licence and the fact that you can improve the skills of player like David Beckham. Sky Sports' heavyweight trio (not literally, gents) of Richard Keys, Martin Tyler and Andy Gray have been drafted in for anchorman, commentary and pundit duties respectively. EA have always presented their games immaculately and this is no different. Each Premiership stadium has been lovingly modelled - they look fantastic. The actual playing style is similar to FIFA in that players' individual skills are all-important. You can produce a range of fanny merchant-esque flicks and drag-backs.
But what's the objective?
To win football matches, son (adopt vaguely Scottish brogue at this juncture). If you win the Premier League, you go on to compete in a number of fantasy cups against the world's best club sides
FIFA games are usually too easy. Is this?
Sadly, at the moment, yes. Experienced digital footballers will have little trouble overcoming teams such as Arsenal and Manchester United. Not that this will stop FA Premier League Stars from hitting the number one spot come August. It's based on the 'biggest league in the world', you know...
* It's the Premiership
* You can improve your team
* Sky Sports-esque presentation
* Rather jerky frame rate
* A bit too easy for some
