Mario Golf
Game Boy Color From: Nintendo

Mario Golf on the N64 is probably the most accessible golf game ever, and this Game Boy Color companion piece wisely sticks with the same simple, playable control method. It doesn't have as many courses or options but it does have a fantastic RPG mode in which you guide a young golfer from obscurity to the top of the professional game, where Mario himself lies in wait. It's filled with devious challenges, from target practice to tournaments, and once you've created the next Tiger Woods you'll be able to export him into the N64 version via the forthcoming Transfer Pak add-on. Undoubtedly one of the best Game Boy Color titles you can buy.

Evel Knievel
Game Boy Color From: Take 2

Arcade game or serious sim? Evel Knievel for the Game Boy Color doesn't seem to know. Clad in his trademark white spandex catsuit, the 1970s daredevil appears content to zoom around a series of surreal obstacle courses, suffering a near-fatal crash every 10 seconds. Make no mistake, this stunt racer is an incredibly difficult game. The aim is to grab stars from various tricky locations, but the realistic handling of the bike means that you'll flip over if you hit a slight bump at top speed. If Evel's head makes contact with a solid object, you're sent back to the start to try again. Trial and error eventually reveals the only safe route through each level, although only the most dedicated Evel wannabes are likely to stick with it for that long.
