As a single-player game it has plenty to keep you bashing away. There's a career mode, 'Road to Wrestlemania', where you have to survive a year's worth of fights to get on the coveted Wrestlemania card. You won't know what type of fight will be next as the game throws all kinds of opposition in your way. You can design your own major PPV, set up dream matches and watch or take part as the giants of the sport tear each other apart. And while you're in a creative mood, you could also make up your own wrestler, give him a unique costume and assign him all your favourite moves.
That's all pretty cool, but it's as a multiplayer game that WWF Wrestlemania 2000 comes into its own. Get together with your mates and up to four of you can take part in some of the most outrageous fights you'll ever see in a game. Rules? Forget 'em. You can fight in the ring, outside the ring, use weapons and even join forces to pick on one poor fighter. Whichever approach you take to the in-ring action, one thing is guaranteed: fun.
The ease with which you can get straight into the action is what puts Wrestlemania at the top of its field. Sure, it helps that the graphics are this good and the music (this is a cart remember, not a CD) is out of this world, but being able to pull off ridiculously good-looking moves within seconds of picking up the joypad sucks you straight into the heat of battle. The create-a-wrestler mode and the fact that all the big names from the WWF are here means that this game is the complete wrestling package.

| Wrestling crosses over to the mainstream fighting genre thanks to top-ranking slugfests like WWF Wrestlemania 2000. Certainly one of the best N64 multiplayer experiences you'll have. |
