Blue Stinger page 2 of 2
Dreamcast

Yeah, I suppose it does. But I do like that sort of thing.
This may well be your bag then. Blue Stinger doesn't appear to offer anything new to the genre, apart from the next-generation graphics.

Just how good are these 'next-generation' graphics?
The in-game graphics are almost as good as the pre-rendered sequences you'd find in a 32bit console game. The cloud and water effects are particularly impressive and really show off the power of the Dreamcast.

Sweet.
Indeed. But sometimes you won't have a chance to stand around admiring the scenery.

Oh?
At certain points in the game you'll have a time limit within which to complete a given task. The first one you find will cause a bit of a panic as you only get two minutes. This system works rather well and jolts you out of the relaxed mood induced by the eye-candy.

Cool. But I don't speak Japanese. Is that a problem?
Not really. Strangely enough all the speech is in English with Japanese subtitles. Menu text is a bizarre combination of English and Japanese, although keywords are usually in English so it doesn't really pose much of a problem. And anyway, Japanese writing looks really nice.

*Splendid graphics really show off the Dreamcast
*Sweeping orchestral score - sounds like a Hollywood blockbuster
*Well paced storyline offers a few surprises
*Dynamic camera could prove to be infuriating
*It's not exactly original
