Championship Manager 3 (PC)

The perfect way to describe CM3 is evolution not revolution. When I first put CM3 on I was, if anything, a little disappointed. The game is basically the same as CM2. But the difference is that CM2 was the revolution. A completely new interface, simple-to-use menus and that all important Tetris-like addictiveness was what CM2 was all about.

Really, the old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here. CM3 is a more streamlined version of its older brother, offering an even better interface and more detail. CM3 demands more of your time and patience than CM2.

You need to concentrate on your player's fitness and form and make sure you don't make radical changes all at once. The game also, thankfully, is harder and one of the best things to be introduced is that other matches are calculated while you play yours, so there is no waiting about after a match. Great idea.

CM3 is the perfect update to CM2. It's not as revolutionary as the second outing but certainly as addictive and better designed. In short, different enough and good enough to warrant your purchase.
