This leads me nicely onto something that I'm sure has been on everyone's minds recently: "Do Sega really stand a chance now that Sony have released the specs for PlayStation 2?" While PS2 appears to be vastly superior to the Dreamcast it will be released at least a year later, giving Sega a huge opportunity to pull the wool over everybody's eyes. It is essential that they divert attention from the potential power of Sony's new machine, which will surely act as a catalyst for big changes within the videogame industry.

It's in this extra year that Sega must plug their incredible game line-up. But I believe Sega realise that it will take an awful lot of persuasion to lure PlayStation owners away from the safety of this gaming behemoth and for this reason I believe they might target the owners of their once-greatest enemy, Nintendo, instead. Sega realise that N64 owners have been starved of decent fighting and racing games since the birth of Nintendo's wonder machine, something which the Dreamcast can supply, namely VF3tb and Sega Rally 2.

I think that Sega will leave the PlayStation alone until Christmas and that is when its real marketing campaign will begin to regain its once-held gaming throne! Sega have a lot of work to do to regain the respect they deserve from the games players and the gaming industry but with cute games like Sonic Adventure targeting the N64 owners and blood baths of games like HOTD 2 and RE: CV they might just be able to do it. However Sony AND Nintendo will be hot on their heels!
