I expect that you can all remember your first computer, the one that actually got you into gaming. For me it was the Commodore 64 - I remember waiting ages and ages for the thing to load but it made it all worthwhile when I could play games like Rick Dangerous. I expect you're all laughing your heads off at me now but people don't understand what a significant impact even the Commodore 64 had on the gaming community.

If the Commodore 64 and even the Spectrum hadn't come around then I doubt your PlayStations and Dreamcasts would be around now, and then what would you all do if you were bored? You might actually have to play sports outside!

If these computers had never been born then we would never have had such classics as Super Mario 64, Tekken 3 and Sonic Adventure and how could we ever live without them?! Hardware development has always, in my opinion, been more exciting than software development simply because everyone just can't wait to see what a new machine is capable of.
