Hmm... funny. On to the Brain now please. Chop chop!
Cheeky. The Brain is the most intelligent of the Queen's servants, hence the name. They command the Guards, while packing a rather mean punch themselves. The Guards are a particularly vicious version of the Soldier.
So the Soldiers are a bit rubbish?
A bit. Although they are very dangerous in large quantities... and there are flipping loads of 'em.
How about the levels? Are they numerous and varied?
At the moment it looks as though there will be around 20 missions, set in five different environments - expect sandstorms, snow, rainforests, volcanoes and outer space. Some of the missions will be 'on-rails'.
What? Like driving a train?
No. 'On-rails' simply means that you don't have complete control. One level, for instance, sees you controlling a helicopter's gun turret. You won't be controlling the flight path of the helicopter - it's pre-set, or 'on-rails' - but you'll be moving the turret around and blasting the pesky bugs out of the sky.
Sounds alright. What about multiplayer?
The obligatory four-player deathmatch will be available, as well as a two-player co-operative mode. One co-op level sees the two of you in a boat, blasting bugs out of the water. Another example of an 'on-rails' level.
Groovy, baby! I had better put this on my Christmas list.
It certainly sounds very promising - big bugs plus big guns should add up to big fun. And we always have a soft spot for multiplayer action. But what was it that made multiplayer GoldenEye so much better than multiplayer Turok 2? Remember that Armorines uses an enhanced version of the Turok 2 engine.
*Beautifully animated bugs are actually quite scary
*Plenty of multiplayer modes should extend Armorines' lifespan
*Lovely hi-res visuals if you've got an Expansion Pak
*Strong sci-fi storyline keeps the single-player experience interesting
*The Turok 2 engine will need a fair bit of tweakage to give a better sense of speed
