What games are tickling your fancy at the moment?
I just completed Crash Bandicoot: Warped which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm a huge fan of the Naughty Dogs ever since we worked with them on Way Of The Warrior many years ago. I'm also playing the frequent updates of 3DO's Army Men: Sarge's Heroes for the N64 coming out this fall. Sarge is a great character and the development team is sneaking in all kinds of surprises that have rekindled my youth. And I'm stealing some time to play High Heat Baseball in an effort to improve my skills for when Trip grabs me for a quick game. 'd like to at least give him a challenging round. No, I've never beaten him. But then, has anyone beat Trip at one of his own games?

What was the first computer game you ever played?
My first computer game was Black Jack on an old Nova mini-computer that was IPL'ed with toggle switches and programmed via punch tape. This was back in high school. For an assignment in computer class, I challenged my brain cells to write a version of my favourite board game - Monopoly. Our teacher said it was impossible and that I had no concept of what computers were capable of doing. He then proceeded to give me failing marks. I couldn't stand for his nonsense and thus the challenge was set. So I spent the rest of the school year programming my first (and last) game. It worked quite well except that once you threw three doubles in a row you couldn't get out of jail. An endless loop in programmers' terminology. The experience was also the catalyst to go to university to study computer science which ultimately led to where I am today.

Any particular favourites from yesteryear?
The original arcade and home classics such as Pong, Missile Command, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong and Pac-Man. Then a whole slew of games on the Atari 2600 including Dragstrip, Kaboom, Pitfall Harry and River Raid Pong because it was the first game that I ever owned. I played a lot on arcade machines because I played in a rock band that spent an awful lot of time 'working' in pubs and they always had plenty of room for my coins while the roadies set up our gear. And after the gigs we spent the wee morning hours winding down by playing the Atari cart games in our tour bus. Those were the days!
