He jumps over the defender's outstretched leg and heads for goal
As regular FG readers will know, Actua Soccer 3 on the PlayStation wears the footballing crown around here but we're a fickle bunch and can always be swayed by something shiny and new. EA reckon they've got just the thing to persuade us.

Football! Footbaaallllah!
No sooner has one season finished than another one's started so you can expect to see all the latest football management and arcade games making an appearance over the next couple of months.
And this one's... ?
Primarily arcade but with some management options.
Like what?
Well, deciding just what your team do during set pieces, for example. You can also change the overall shape and attitude of your team.
Can I be feisty Bristol Rovers?
The Gas? No, you can't. This game features only Premiership teams. All of them mind, with all the players and all the stadia. In splendid detail too.
Am I going to be overwhelmed with key and button presses?
No. There are numerous context-sensitive special shots and passes that can be employed but the basic controls are easy enough to get to grips with.
And what's this STARS business all about?
Glad you asked. How your team performs during a match is all-important because your players get rewarded with stars. You can then 'spend' these stars on improving various areas of your players' game - shooting, passing, tackling and so on. They're also the currency used when you want to buy and sell players. The neat thing about this is that you can then use your super-team in matches against your friends.
