FA Premier League STARS page 2 of 2

Sounds groovy.
Doesn't it just? Mind you, if you've got a new, fresh team you'll have to play out of your socks when you come up against a team that's got a sackful of stars.

I'll bear that in mind. What of commentary?
The whole Sky team are here. Richard 'hirsute hands' Keys introduces the matches while passionate Martin Tyler commentates during them with some expert chipping in from Andy Gray. It's lovely actually.

Is it just a league then?
Oh no. Conquer the league and you can take part in some made-up cups and take on some famous teams from all over the world.

How's it looking?
Great. The motion-captured animation is quite beautiful. There's still a bit of work to do on the ball physics though - at the moment it seems to slide to other players as if on ice.

A contender?
If they get the pre-season training right it could prove itself to be flair team. The choice of camera angles is good and the players actually look like they're playing football. Which is nice. We'll have to play the game a whole lot more before passing definitive comment though and we haven't worked out how to score dollies yet, (see last week's Gamer Life for an explanation of the term 'dolly').

Over here son, on me head...
Goodnight Irene.

*Your players earn 'stars' for their performance...
*... which you can use to buy better players
*All the stadia, players and kits are splendidly detailed
*Plenty of scope for fine-tuning your tactics
*That ball movement needs sorting out
