Toy Commander page 2 of 2
Dreamcast

Sounds fantastic...
It is, but the real beauty of Toy Commander lies in the variety of the missions. One example of a strategy mission sees you driving a truck which you can load with toy soldiers (machine gunner and bazooka types). Once loaded up, you're charged with storming a heavily guarded embassy-like building. When you encounter enemy fire en route, you can offload your troops at the press of a button. They will then have a pop at the enemy units before you go on your merry way.

How original! Sounds like a hoot. So what does it look like?
Probably better than anything you've ever seen. The rooms are huge and intricately detailed with fully interactive scenery; shoot a light switch and lights will go off or on. One of the best things we saw was a sleeping cat, which got up and buggered off after a rude 'pellet-in-the-arse' awakening. It looked absolutely huge and was beautifully animated, drawing a very audible 'ooh' from the already salivating journalists.

I must have it now!
Before you've even heard about the multiplayer stuff?

Please, please, tell me now! Is there something I should know?
Indeed there is - the four-player deathmatch looks fantastic. There are three different modes: sheer deathmatch, capture the flag and 'cat and mouse'. The first two should be familiar to everyone, but 'cat and mouse' sounds like a right laugh. One player starts as the 'cat' and has to chase the other players, who represent the 'mice'. Shooting another player will make them the 'cat'. It should be quite similar to 'flag tag' in GoldenEye.

Great!
Just wait until you see it in action...

* Is this the first truly 'next gen' game?
* The fully interactive environments are unbelievable
* Loads of different vehicles to play with
* Missions are incredibly varied with plenty of replay value
* All this and an addictive four-player deathmatch
