New label for kids

Revolution in kids' games

Revolution Software have set up a separate publishing label called Kids Revolution, on which they intend to deliver top notch games for the little people. The York-based company, famous for their Broken Sword adventure games, will publish both PC and console titles.

"As a father of two," says Charles Cecil, Managing Director of Revolution Software, "I've become increasingly disillusioned with the PC games that are available for my children to play. In their games, children expect all the care that would go into an equivalent mainstream game. They love to play games that challenge them at their own level - which may or may not involve an educational aspect. Kids Revolution will provide games that kids will love and adults will trust."

Kids Revolution will target children aged between three and 12 with a series of high-profile licensed titles. The first of these will be Disney's Mulan Activity Centre, due to be published by Sony in September 1999. More are planned for release during 2000.

"We take the children's market very seriously," continues Charles. "We will never try to fool them with sub-standard product. Kids are very sophisticated these days - it would be a huge mistake to palm them off with shoddy software. Similarly, we have a commitment to the parents too. The English and US language versions will be grammatically correct and correctly spelt for each territory. We guarantee that none of our titles will cause upset or offence. We're aiming to establish a brand all can trust."
