Combat and puzzle solving then?
There are no flies on you. The game describes itself as an action adventure but yes, the gameplay concerns itself with combat using a whole slew of weapons, including those supernatural powers mentioned earlier, or your hands and feet if you've run out of ammo, plus puzzle solving.
Lots to explore?
Plenty. There are some 100 locations in the game and you can bet your bottom dollar there's a nasty surprise waiting around every other corner.
Does it have the usual Gallic visual flair?
The version we've seen certainly does. The camera system's very good and there's some splendid animation on all the characters. It's also put together well, so you don't have to keep stopping and waiting for stuff to load whenever you open a new door.
Nice.
It certainly is, and it should have been because it's created by Hubert Chardot, author of the great Alone in the Dark series.
Oh wow!
We were impressed too. It's a good-looking game with plenty of atmosphere and we're hoping Cryo manage to get a hefty slice of decent gameplay into Devil Inside too, because French developers have been know to concentrate on the aesthetics of games a little more than they should.
That Deva looks foxy.
We're really hoping Cryo aren't pinning their colours to her mast. It's going to need a lot more than some polygon titillation for the game to survive in this genre.
Do Say...
Look out! There's one behind you!
Don't Say...
What's on the other side?
Two characters to play
Looks great
Plenty of action...
... And adventure
Not the most original of titles
