What do the buttons do then?
The analogue stick is used to point Ecco in the desired direction, while a stab of the A button makes the cheeky blighter swish his tail, propelling him forward with the greatest of ease. Depressing the X button will cause Ecco to emit a sonar 'ping', attracting nearby marine life for a chat. That's how real dolphins communicate. Remember Flipper? Cli-ck-k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k!
Hey, that's not a ping!
You're right. Come to think of it, we've never heard a dolphin 'ping', even on one of those excellent BBC documentaries. Ho hum. Anyway, sometimes Ecco will encounter members of the sub-aquatic underworld, like the evil shark or the cunning moray eel. What most people don't realise is that dolphins are actually as hard as nails and have been known to kill sharks by means of a nose charge, a kind of fishy head-butt. Pressing B will make Ecco do just that.
Dolphins are brilliant!
We prefer tuna.
Do say...
Caught using rod and line.
Don't say...
Ecco sleeps wit da fishes.
It looks better than anything we've seen before...
... apart from a cool lager beer or a handsome young lady
Ecco can even beat up sharks
Some multiplayer modes would be nice
Graphics aside, it's pretty much the same as the original
