Issue 69 - March 9, 2000

Here's a new feature for Future Gamer. They are exactly like our normal reviews, but one-eighth the size. We shall call them... Mini-Reviews...

Mini-Review
Bugs and Lola
Game Boy Color From: Infogrames

Check out the Game Boy Color section of your local software shop and you might find that every third title is an Infogrames/Looney Tunes game. Bugs, Daffy, Tweety and the gang even put Mario to shame with their prolific platforming antics, and the series has managed to retain a surprisingly high quality throughout. While none of the Looney Tunes games could be described as revolutionary, they're more than competent. This one features the two rabbits in a quest to recover their stolen carrots. It's solid and efficient, it won't surprise you at all and it'll make a decent Easter gift for a demanding young relative.

Mini-Review
Catz
Game Boy Color From: Mindscape

They're hugely popular as PC desktop accessories, having spawned sequels and a range of spin-offs, and now the cute Catz and its less cute companion, Dogz, have been converted to the Game Boy Color. Inevitably, a program intended to provide a spot of light relief on your PC can't quite cut it as a stand-alone game. You get a feline of your choice and a cupboard filled with toys, treats and things that get cats in a party mood. It's basically just like a Tamagotchi - you'll switch it on for a few minutes to give your neglected pet some TLC and then you'll turn it off and put your Game Boy to better use playing a proper game. Cute but dull.
