Transfers - The transfer system has undergone a serious overhaul; new additions include the option to pay by monthly instalments and a clause for a percentage of the next sale. The scouts are much more useful now; send them off to any country or continent and see what they come up with after a few weeks.
Reserves - Control the reserve team! Enjoy the highs and lows of Friday night reserve clashes. If a player turns out to be a bit good you can promote him to the first team.
The whole interface has been completely redesigned, giving easy access to everything you need when you need it. The in-match screens are particularly impressive and are divided as follows:
Match Overview – This is your familiar and most used match view. Commentary text is displayed in the middle of the screen and there’s a bar at the bottom showing possession for the last five minutes.
Action Zones – Just like on Sky Sports you can see how long the ball has been in each third of the field by the percentage.
Team Stats – See just how much of a contribution each player has made; from passes made and completed, to shots on target and much more.
Player Ratings – An at-a-glance look at each player’s performance, with a rating out of 10.
Latest Scores – Find out how the other teams in your division are getting on, as it happens. Particularly handy towards the end of the season.
Match Report – A blow-by-blow account of both halves. Essentially a summary of the match commentary.
What more could you possibly ask for? The classic structure of the original is still in there somewhere, it’s just been polished, tweaked and improved in every way imaginable. Thank you Eidos.
