What's the most overrated game ever?
ME:
Defender of the Crown on the Amiga. I remember reading gushing reviews of how it would revolutionise computer games. Beautiful graphics, but the code must have taken about an hour to write.

What's the most underrated game ever?
ME:
Marble Madness in the arcades for more reasons than I have room to type. Amiga version was stunning too if you had an A2000 or higher.

Have you ever lied to an arcade attendant to get a free credit?
ME:
Not lied, but I put about £40 into Sega's Daytona the day it arrived in our local arcade, then persuaded the manager to let me Free Play for half an hour because I'd run out of cash.

Who in the games industry do you most admire?
ME:
Anyone who has funded development of games, or a company themselves - I've known a few people throw everything they own down the drain.

What was the first videogame you ever played?
ME:
Defender, or Asteroids in the arcades, I can't remember which. AcornSoft's Monsters on my BBC micro was the first computer game I played to death.

Have you ever cancelled a date to play a videogame?
ME:
You must be joking.

What videogame websites do you have bookmarked?
ME:
I'm one of those crazy people who enters the full URL by hand every time I want to look at something.

Did you ever own a Jaguar?
ME:
No, but years ago I owned a Lotus and they fell apart too. Luckily I had the foresight never to buy a Jaguar game console. (Although we started work on an ATARI Panther version of Shadow of the Beast, before they canned that machine).

What game are you most looking forward to playing?
ME:
Driver - totally finished - out the door - no bugs/additions - just finished, over, THE END. I'll have one quick go of the final mastered black disc then go on holiday.

What's the first game you look for in an arcade?
ME:
Any flash new Namco/Sega polygon-pushing monster with a 50" back projector and big speakers. In the olden days it used to be Defender then a few years on I ROBOT.

Do you ever play videogames in the nude?
ME:
Since I only play them at work that would be bad manners, wouldn't it?
