I'm still not convinced. Tell me something else.
The game's main character has complete freedom in his new found world, which consists of six very different regions, which means he can run, swim, ride and play tennis. Oh, not the tennis bit, but you get the idea.
It's all very well having freedom, but I don't want it if it's pointless...
It won't be. Outcast is designed to get the player constantly switching between action, adventure and strategy modes throughout the gameplaying experience and for that you need the total freedom offered.
I can picture this game being perfectly suited to some grand symphonic musical score...
You little tinker. You've already heard that the game's soundtrack has been composed by American composer Lennie Moore and performed by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra didn't you?
No. Honest.
Liar. Anyway, it has. The graphics are pretty groovy too, employing voxel-based technology for the landscapes and blending two types of motion capture for the characters. Looks groovy, sounds groovy - all we need to find out now is how groovily the whole thing hangs together as a game. We're quietly optimistic but then we usually are...
*Full freedom of movement for your character
*Action, adventure and strategy all rolled into one
*Splendid graphics and sound add polish to the gameplay
*The artificial intelligence, allegedly, is second to none
*Could well prove to be another 'run around and shoot things' game
