Dreamcast shoot 'em up |
Red Lemon to develop 1960s shoot 'em up
Think the shooting of Jack Kennedy. Think Charles Manson's murderous hippy 'Family'. Think America in the 1960s. Blimey, and you've got a Dreamcast shoot 'em up. Scottish developers Red Lemon Studios are producing the aforementioned shooter and it goes by the unlikely name of Take The Bullet.
Set in late '60s America, Take The Bullet features a lead protagonist called Jack Travis who is employed by a presidential candidate as a bodyguard during the course of an election campaign.
Why? Because the fiendish Children of Gabrielle (no, really) gang are hell bent on assassinating Kincaide, the candidate. As luck would have it, you take on the role of Travis and you can view the action in the first or third-person perspective. Your task is to organise a selection of bodyguards and presumably, shoot any blimmin' hippy that moves. There are 12 levels and some 18 weapons which you can garner.
Take The Bullet will be compatible with the Dreamcast's light gun and perhaps best of all, it's multiplayer fare. Four can play on one machine, but plug in the Dreamcast's modem and up to 16 can blast away in a simultaneous death match online. Sounds kind of fun, eh?
Take The Bullet should be finished towards the end of the year.
