Nintendo to link with Game Boy Color camera |
Nintendo putting a brave face on it
Remember the Super Furry Animals song Play It Cool? Didn't think so. Anyway, the video featured the band playing Actua Soccer 2 and then they were sucked into the screen and played the game themselves as Actua footballers. Artists at Gremlin plopped each band member's head onto a player. They looked a bit weird, mind - think Sean Bean in GoldenEye. Spooky.
You may be able to do the same thing yourself if Nintendo's plans come to fruition. Linking the Game Boy Camera with the N64, Nintendo plan to let us plant our own ugly mugs on game characters. Trade weekly CTW speculates that the technology could be used for the first time in Perfect Dark, Rare's follow-up to GoldenEye 007 and possibly a football game. CTW also speculates that Nintendo may try and incorporate voice recognition technology in the future.
