Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time page 2 of 2 |
PlayStation |
Remind you of anything you've played before?
Remember Jersey Devil? Bugs Bunny is actually based on the same game engine with one or two refinements. Thankfully, the camera dynamics are much improved from the constantly swinging lens we suffered in Jersey Devil. In fact, you can adjust the camera using the lower shoulder buttons.
So what can the Bunny do, then?
More than Jersey Devil, as luck would have it. He can run, crouch, roll, kick, tip-toe and jump. The coolest manoeuvre involves ear-twizzling (is that a word?) - this enables him to hover slightly when jumping off ledges. The Bunny can also get the odd special power. Merlin gives him four magical abilities - the magical fan, magical jump, magical tune and Open Sesame.
Any interesting tasks?
Tasks? This is a videogame. You're supposed to enjoy it. Anyway. One of the sections is a ride which incorporates five modes of transport; a car, motorbike, unicycle, tandem and, um... goat. They're all the rage, these mini games-within-games. Crash Bandicoot 3 dispensed with 'the game' and just included games-within-games, didn't it?
Ah, but is this better than Crash 3 et al?
Bugs Bunny: Lost In Time is not as bad as one would imagine. Certainly, it's a repackaged Jersey Devil, but with Bugs Bunny as the main protagonist. There are cameo performances from Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck (too many Ducks spoil the broth etc), Yosemite Sam, and Witch Hazel, and the whole thing's pretty faithful to the Looney Tunes show. Bear in mind though, that Infogrames are pitching the game at 8-14 year-olds. Yes, it's a kids game!
*It's got Bugs Bunny in it
*And Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam and Daffy Duck
*Pretty much like the cartoon...
*... but more like Jersey Devil
*For kids, apparently
