Feeling Fruity

Dear Future Gamer,

Ben C (FG29) has obviously not noticed that the iMac has given Apple the life it deserves. If it wasn't for iMac, Apple would still be seeing red. To describe it as not cutting the mustard is plain stupid; the computer has sold in its millions throughout the world, and will likely go on to become the best-selling computer ever (if it has not done so already).

What Ben doesn't seem to realise is that although you pay a considerable sum of money for the iMac (which just recently had a price cut), no PC manufacturer I know of can offer the same customer service & reliability. It's like comparing a Vauxhall to a BMW.

Secondly, if Ben had done his research, he'd know that the main selling point to buying an iMac is its ability to connect to the Net. The average time it takes for a first time computer user to get online after taking it out of the box is 15 minutes.

The iMac also has the advantage of running the Mac OS rather than the simply dreadful Windows OS.

I don't prefer either platform to the other, but you can't help but feel that people who can't accept Macs in general obviously don't pay much attention to the software stored on their PCs, much of which is likely to be an Apple product.

FG: The iMac has indeed been a tremendous shot in the arm for Apple. We at FG hope this huge user base now convinces more software houses to start producing Mac versions of their games. Again, we're not platform biased, we just want as many people as possible to enjoy playing games.
