Dear Future Gamer,
First off I would like to congratulate you on a fine mag. I have four points to make and they are as follows:
1. I have to agree with Neil Clowrey that games these days seem to have little or no humour in them. Monkey Island is one of the true classics and if other games could demonstrate this kind of humour it would be a welcome change. I'm also glad to see Future Gamer has a sense of humour, keep it up!
2. Are some of your readers insane? Does it really matter if the news has that stupid IGN logo at the bottom? Come on, how can a little logo at the bottom of the page bother them so much? It takes nothing away from the mag as a whole and could just be easily be ignored.
3. I am quite new to the Internet (six months) and am amazed at the amount of things available for download. I have come across websites offering the download of full PC games. I have also seen the new Star Wars movie available and the ROMs of other formats. I see this as a great threat to the gaming industry because piracy was one of the reasons the now defunct Amiga went bust.
4. Why do people take Quake so seriously? IT'S ONLY A GAME!
Adam Gill
FG:
Alright Adam, here's what I think:
1. Getting the humour right for such a diverse audience is terribly difficult which is why the Monkey Island series of games is so notable. One man's gag is another man's groan and no software house wants to cut out part of its potential market by pitching a game at a player with a particular sense of humour. But yes, it would make a welcome change.
2. We try to offer a service to our readers, we think having our news feed from IGN increases the benefits we offer but we've proved you can't please all of the people all of the time.
3. Then don't participate in it.
4. Because, unfortunately, some gamers have no other focus in their lives.
