Retro gaming is fun, but only in small doses and certainly not in doses that you've shelled out so much money for. Nip down to your local Blockbuster and rent it for an evening with some mates and a few bottles of the good stuff for a bit of nostalgia (maybe with some old movies like Kelly's Heroes or Star Wars to go with them) - that's the only way these games should be played.
'The good old days' most certainly doesn't apply to videogaming if these compilations are anything to go by. Where are the Elites? Where are the Mercenaries? Where are the Rescue on Fractulus?
When you consider most of these titles are available on PC or Mac emulators for very little money, it makes you wonder how they justify the full price, especially when so little work goes into porting them onto the PlayStation. The inclusion of old artwork and sound effect files doesn't make this any better value for money.
Capcom Generations is the ideal rental title. Get it, take it home, reminisce and then go and play Metal Gear Solid to realise just how much better we have things right now. You never had it so good and compilations like Capcom Generations will show you why.

| Don't buy it. Rent it, enjoy it for an hour or so and then forget it. Not good value for money, despite all the various games on board. |
