Dino Crisis page 2 of 2
PlayStation

Graphically, it's very similar to the second Resident Evil game, although some of the environments have been tweaked so that they reflect the high tech origins of the base a little more accurately.

Your character has a few new moves, including being able to have the gun aimed and ready while she's moving, which comes in handy a lot once the chase begins. The game has been plotted just right so you get carried along to the end at the right speed, learning just enough as you go along to get you past the next section.

Now that Capcom and Eidos have decided to keep us waiting until next year for the full-on UK release of Resident Evil 3, Dino Crisis is going to serve the huge Res audience perfectly. It has everything the first two games had (minus the zombies) and throws a few new tweaks into the equation that will provide enough new thrills to keep everyone going.

It certainly has enough playability to keep everyone hooked and manages to be bigger than the first two games, presenting even more of a challenge, especially when you think you've reached the end and a whole new twist develops - but that would be telling. You'll just have to buy it to find out what happens, won't you...

FG verdict
A worthy successor to the first two Resident Evil games, and one that fans will fall in love with. One for the collection, definitely. 93%
