Is the car racing bit any good?
It's certainly very fast, but you can find yourself trailing the same car around a block for ages.
Why don't you turn around and meet it head-on?
Jiminy crivens! Never thought of doing that. Actually, the enemies can pull off the swiftest of U-turns so you have to keep turning around. Inevitably, you dash about with your finger constantly on the gun trigger.
What else?
Well, there's loads more to Action Man than just GTA-style driving. The next mission shows a cut-scene of Action Man hang-gliding down to a desert location and the game switches to a third-person-viewed adventure.
Like Tomb Raider?
It's certainly in the Tomb Raider vein, although not quite as detailed as that. Action Man has to scoot past armed guards to complete his mission, while gathering boosters that litter the landscape. He's got an inventory of all sorts of hi-tech gadgets, include radars and various communication devices. You can zoom right out of the landscape to get a picture of the whole level and zoom in to different areas as and when required.
Is Action Man going to be massive?
Well, considering the PlayStation user base, there's certainly a market for Hasbro's favourite plastic man - in a sort of polygonal way. The different genres within the game give it an eclectic feel, but we'll have to wait for a full play test before giving a proper thumbs-up.
Driving section is like GTA
Loads of gadgets
Different game genres
It's Action Man
Likely to be a bit lame for sophisticates
