Dear Future Gamer
Am I the only person who thinks PlayStation2 is going to suck? Look at the facts: two joypad ports - Dreamcast has four, as does N64. Everyone's raving about Tekken Tag Tournament - Namco have hinted at a DC version and Soul Calibur's better than TTT in the arcade. 4Mb RAM - DC has 16Mb and N64 with an expansion Pak has 8Mb. Sony have only made a half-assed copy of PS's pad - DC's pad has analogue shoulder buttons, too.
The memory card is nowhere near as good as Sega's VMS. You need to buy an add-on for Internet access and net access won't be available until 2001. DVD-ROM is more expensive than CDs and GDs, and even when the price comes down, DC will be upgradable to DVD.
12 launch games - DC and N64 will both have well over 100 games by then, and don't go on about backwards compatibility as the only PS game I like is Metal Gear Solid. £300 at launch - N64 will be around £50, and DC will probably drop to about £150. It looks like a small air-conditioning unit. DC is just gorgeous, but PS2 looks even worse than the US SNES.
No wonder Sega have said that they're not worried about PS2 anymore. You can all buy your PlayStation2's, but me and my friends are sticking with our Dreamcasts and N64s.

FG:
You don't like the PlayStation, do you, Olly? There's a little bit more to the PlayStation catalogue than Metal Gear Solid, and whatever the technical merits of the various consoles, most people are more interested in the games than the machines. Be in no doubt that PlayStation2 will be party to some phenomenal games. Clearly, it is not going to 'suck'. Isn't it rather early to have such a downer on a console which won't be released in this country for ages? Hell, Dreamcast isn't even in the shops yet.
