Force 21 - out now in the shops

Force 21 - Out now in the shops
Issue 47 - September 30, 1999

Hall of Shame
Virtuoso (PC)

'A person who has a masterly or dazzling skill or technique in any field of activity.' That's the dictionary definition of the word 'virtuoso'. Never has a game been more inappropriately named.

Virtuoso puts you in the role of a mullet-inflicted rock star, wandering around a virtual world with a couple of shotguns. Think Jon Bon Jovi on crack. The 'action' is viewed from a third-person perspective, presumably so you can see the hero's crimped locks wave around as he walks. The only virtual thing about this game is the virtual lack of gameplay. The graphics looked dated as soon as it arrived in 1995, and as for the sound... oh dear. Seven dire heavy metal tracks streamed straight off the CD for your aural pleasure.

Truly deserving of its place in the Hall of Shame, Virtuoso most definitely does NOT rock! We want it to die. Die and go to hell.
