Force 21 - out now in the shops
Issue 48 - October 7, 1999

Here's a new feature for Future Gamer. They are exactly like our normal reviews, but one-eighth the size. We shall call them... Mini-Reviews...

Mini-Review
WWF Attitude
Game Boy Color From: Acclaim

This is one of the last chances we'll get to play an Acclaim WWF game before the kings of console wrestling are forced to make do with the seedier, dirtier, downright nasty ECW wrestling licence. So enjoy these miniaturised kiddie favourites while you still can, before they're replaced by a bunch of psychopathic savages. WWF Attitude is a pretty good attempt to bring the essence of the successful N64 games to the 8bit handheld, with a huge cast of characters and just about as many moves as you can squeeze out of two buttons and a D-pad. It's a fast, smooth fix of cartoon violence for pre-teens.

Mini-Review
Duke Nukem
Game Boy Color From: GT Interactive

The Dukester started out life as a 2D sprite before getting his bad attitude and 3D makeover, so it's fitting that he should return to his roots for his very first Game Boy outing. If you played the original games or the fantastic Metal Slug on the NeoGeo Pocket, you'll know what to expect from this action-packed platform shooter. Duke leaps, dangles, drives, flies and rips many a new hole with a selection of weapons ranging from flame-throwers to chainguns. The body count is impressive and there's lots of variety to the gameplay and gunplay, even if it isn't quite as polished as Metal Slug.
