I'm down with that. Are the new teams included?
All 31 NFL teams are present and correct, including the Tennessee Titans (we only heard of them a couple of weeks ago). Every stadium has been lovingly recreated and the rosters are all up-to-date with your favourite gridiron stars. Each team has its own specific playbook and there's even the option to create your own. If you can be arsed. Would-be head coaches can even tinker with trades, draft selections and managing salaries.
This is hardcore! Does it play alright?
It's not that different to the genre-defining John Madden's on the Mega Drive all those years ago. If you've played any half-decent NFL game, you'll find your feet in next to no time. Until you want to attempt a passing play.
Is that a tad difficult?
You could say that. We managed two completions from 20 attempts - hardly enough to call yourself a member of the Quarterback Club, is it? Chucking the thing isn't a problem, but catching it is a different matter. You can't just throw the ball and watch it sail into the receiver's mitts - you'll need to press a button at exactly the right time or the pigskin will simply bounce off his bonce.
Maybe you're just rubbish...
Maybe.
So should I start saving for this now?
It all depends on how long Sega keep us waiting.
Do say...
Let's try the 58-left bootleg with a flea-picker shovel pass. Hut!
Don't say...
So how many goes do I get to make 10 yards?
Lovely "Ultra Hi-Rez" (TM) graphics
Great TV-style presentation
Replay moments from every Super Bowl ever!
You can create your own playbook
Doesn't look as good as Sega's NFL 2K
