What about NFL Blitz 2000 from Midway?
That looks fantastic but the emphasis is firmly on fun. Sega and Acclaim are both vying for the simulation crown. A quick straw poll around the office reveals that everyone is prepared to wait for Sega to get their act together and release NFL 2K. That's not to say that Quarterback Club looks cack; it's just that Sega's effort looks phenomenal (as do their NBA 2K and NHL 2K - that's basketball and ice hockey respectively).

But I really liked Quarterback Club on N64.
It was a decent enough game, replete with fancy hi-res graphics. This one features Acclaim's "Ultra Hi-Rez" (TM) graphics engine and the results are very impressive. The players in particular are beautifully detailed and well animated, although their hands look pretty stupid upon closer inspection. The motion capture is extremely lifelike and was provided by the New York Jets.

Yeah! Go Jets! I remember Super Bowl III...
The "Joe Namath" final? Whereby the youthful underdogs from New York thumped the veteran Colts? You can relive that classic game, along with every other Super Bowl from I to XXXIII. It's your old 'scenario mode' kind of thing: you're 10 points down at the start of the fourth - can you turn the game around? You know the score. Once you've completed the first batch, the next will be unlocked.
