Future Gamer: Issue 56 £0.00

I didn't know anything about it myself, but the rest of the gang assure me that the news about Quake 3 Arena hitting the shops on December 17 is, apparently, of quite some import. Research boffins would have us believe that it's the consoles and not the PC that will dominate the online games scene in a few years, which gives us some food for thought. Also in the news this week is the story that you can play all your old favourite arcade games on your PC through the Shockwave site - isn't it fab what they can do with technology these days?

Keep your top 10s coming in folks - we've started our Games of the Millennium feature, but there are still another 75 of them to cover and we wouldn't want to miss something out. I'm glad all your responses to the new parts of Gamer Life have been positive too, and we're still changing things around so there's a couple of new bits in there again this week.

Enjoy.

Preview: The Sims (PC)
The people that brought us the Sim City series (Maxis) are now bringing us a game based on the people that populate those cities. Steer a virtual population towards peace and harmony and jobs in banks. Or get them to rob said banks. Lawks!
Review: Music 2000 (PlayStation)
Codemasters' original Music was an innovative piece of PlayStation code and this sequel looks to have surpassed the original. Let your creative musical juices flow without having to spend years learning all about loops, mix-downs and sample cells.
Feature: Games of the Millennium
We start our four-week look at the 100 games that have shaped the games industry. We're not just talking about the top 100 games of all time, though; we're looking at the games that have made a significant impact - and not always for the right reasons.
