| Update On Dreamcast Launch In Australia |
What Ozisoft had to say about the November 30 debacle...
Yesterday we told you how the Dreamcast launch in Australia didn't exactly go to plan. The consoles themselves were in short supply, as were peripherals and, erm, the games. Apart from that, everything went really smoothly.
Following a barrage of complaints, Steve O'Leary from Ozisoft issued a statement yesterday, addressing some of the problems. Explaining what appears to be part logistical nightmare, part bungled hash, this is what he said to say to irate Aussie gamers:
Peripherals were in short supply worldwide due to the 'phenomenal success' of the machine.
The software arrived late from Europe and took an age to sort out when it did, but by the end of next week most of the promised titles should be available.
The demo disk was held up in the same shipment as the software, but this too will be fully available next week.
Implementing the Dreamcast system into the Aussie network has proved a nightmare, but the Internet Access disk should be available by early 2000.
So there you have it: one big foul-up, but it looks like most Aussie gamers will be sorted out soon. Fair dinkum.
