Online RPGs for the Dreamcast could be just around the corner
Sega are almost ready to get on the online role-playing bandwagon, according to trade paper MCV. The Japanese giants, keen to capitalise on their new machine's Internet capabilities, are looking at RPGs as a way of breaking into a market previously dominated by the PC.
SegaSoft are already working on a game called 10six, an intergalactic role-playing romp that will be released initially for the PC, and the word is that a version for Dreamcast has been pencilled-in for a later date.
The jury is still out on exactly how effective a tool the Dreamcast will be for a project like this, but Sega will obviously be keen to get some web-cred established before Playsation2 arrives.
In the meantime, PC owners can be left with the thought that whatever they think of Dreamcast and all the new surfers it will bring to the net, online gaming will still be their sole preserve for a little while longer...
