Palestine! Tell me about the multiplayer options.
Egypt? Sadly, 4 Wheel Thunder only caters for two players. Why, Midway, why? We're looking at the Dreamcast right now and we can see four, count 'em, four controller ports! Apart from this minor disappointment, you'll find all the usual multiplayer (should that be 'bi-player'?) modes, like head-to-head and bomb tag. The power-ups should provide a few Mario Kart-style laughs.
And just how fancy are the graphics?
Very fancy, in that inimitable Dreamcast way. Expect to see Gouraud Shading (remember that from the Amiga?), reflection mapping on the vehicles, sparks and skid marks (guffaw). Don't take our word for it - check out the screenshots for chrissakes!
I just might do that. Anything else?
Not really. Although Midway will be praying that Rage don't release a Dreamcast version of Offroad any time soon. We had a go on an early PC version of that a few months back and it was dead impressive. Rage's track record of PC to Dreamcast conversions (Incoming and Expendable) suggests that we'll be hearing about Offroad DC pretty soon.
Do say...
Two players? Fantastic! I only have one friend.
Don't say...
How many cars are there in Gran Turismo 2?
12 tracks in six real-world locations
Four vehicle types including monster trucks. It's madness!
It's not another Dreamcast beat 'em up
The graphics look rather nice
Games with monster trucks in are usually dump
