Apart from that, everything's hunky-dory, of course.
I haven't even begun yet. One of the few downsides of the largely well-received CB3 was the slightly dodgy collision detector - you could go through trees like Michael Owen through a crowded defence. With CB4 the opposite is true, as you're snagged by passing branches for even looking at them.
Oh ice say... Surely you can do all these big air tricks, though?
That's still a strong point of the game. You can pull off stunning combos when you have enough air, and you can still slide sideways along rails and stuff. And this time there's even a train you can jump through and a house you can launch off. The on-the-white-stuff feel is much the same - pretty quick downhill but with an ever-so slightly leaden turning circle though the corners, despite the use of the (awkward) shoulder buttons to help you.
That all sounds a bit disappointing.
It is, and in fact it really is difficult to see what they've been doing all this time, apart from signing up a few boarders and a couple of advertisers. The incomplete version we've been playing actually manages to look and play worse than CB3, so gamers who haven't already got CB3 may find that better value than CB4. The rest of you had better wait, with less than baited breath, for the review...
Do say...
Cool Boarders 4 does have anoraks, but on the evidence so far it also looks pants. Or piste poor, even.
Don't say (not on our Chat Forum, anyway)...
Anything at all about snowboarder sims. We're sick to the back teeth of them, frankly.
Loads of tricks
Still one of the faster boarders around
Offers too little that's new
On-snow controls could do with a tweak
At the moment the graphics are suffering from frostbite
You can find more screenshots on the Future Gamer Website...
