| Action Man: Mission Extreme |
| PlayStation |
From: Hasbro |
If his first mission on the PlayStation is anything to go by, the fuzzy-haired, eagle-eyed one has gone a bit soft of late. Certainly all you out there hoping for a full-on blood and death extravaganza are going to disappointed, because Mission Xtreme, an action man adventure obviously aimed at the new kiddie rather than the big kiddie market, doesn't exactly live up to its name. Very short and very easy, with a distinct lack of death all round, an evening followed by a nostalgically early bedtime is enough to complete it. It's fun while it lasts, though. As the plastic-jawed hero, you get to race around streets, Grand Theft Auto-style, hang-glide, and have a third-person Tomb Raider-ish desert adventure as you battle to defeat the evil Gangrene and his army of robots. Cool, eh? U certificate stuff.

| South Park: Chef's Luv Shack |
| PlayStation |
From: Acclaim |
Are you sick to the back teeth of the South Park phenomenon yet? Hooray! So are we. Let's kill them all, not just Kenny. Let's go round their houses with flaming brands and pitchforks and drive the buggers out. "We don't want your sort round our PlayStation any more," we'll tell them. Someone's head certainly deserves to roll for this latest cash-in too far. A certificate X-style quiz show game for up to four people, with questions on such family themes as testicular cancer, Luv Shack's only virtue is its handful of mini games based on old classics like Asteroids, which should keep the average gamer happy for an evening or so. But after that the rage sets in... Hack! Kill! Slay! Oh yes - and it looks crap, of course.
