| International Track & Field 2 |
| PlayStation |
From: Konami |
After a lengthy break, Konami have decided to cripple the world's youth once again with the release of International Track & Field 2. Why do we play these games? They actually cause the player physical pain, for chrissakes! It's all down to the multiplayer mode. As with the original, and countless clones (Hyper Sports, Daley Thompson's Decathlon, etc), IT&F2 is absolute toss when played alone - heck, there are far more enjoyable ways to damage your wrist in private. But get a few mates and a crate of beer and you're in for a treat. The in-game graphics and overall presentation have been polished over the years and a few events have been replaced but it's essentially the same as its predecessor. If it ain't broke... The main thing to bear in mind is that the original can be snapped up for just £20.

| Dune |
| PlayStation |
From: EA |
The brilliant Dune 2 on the Amiga defined the real-time strategy genre and paved the way for the likes of Command & Conquer, Warcraft and Total Annihilation. Sadly, Westwood tried to recreate their early success with Dune 2000, although it was clear that their energy (and budget) was focused elsewhere. Somewhere altogether more Tiberian perhaps. We were rather surprised when we heard that Dune 2000 was PlayStation bound, especially with the system's poor track record when it comes to real-time strategy titles (with the exception of the lovely Warzone 2100). Controlling your forces in the heat of battle using a PlayStation controller is an absolute nightmare and this, coupled with the low-res graphics, renders Dune 2000 almost unplayable.
