| PS2: Console or Video? |
Dear Future Gamer
I have a quick question about Playstation2. I'm sure you remember not too long ago Panasonic released a console called the 3DO. The original version of this console had a front-loading tray. I read some time later that due to the fact that it was front-loaded, when Panasonic brought the console to Europe they had to pay the import duties for a VCR instead of a console. Because of this they changed the Mark 2 version to a top-loader. This is a detail that every other CD-based console has copied. So my question is this: why is the new PSX2 a front-loader? Have the import laws changed? Will this mean we'll have to pay more for our PSX2s when they come out in Europe?

Sorry Jermain, even our mighty brains don't know the answer to this. We simply thought it was a design issue. Anyone out there with an even bigger brain care to comment?
