Shin-shoryu-ken!
Absolutely. Talking of which (and we were, weren't we?), the special moves in Second Impact are fantastic. Capcom call it the Super Art System, whereby you choose one of three character-specific special moves at the start of a bout. This is in place of the old Super Combo system which will be familiar to all Street Fighter die-hards. These mega moves can only be executed when your power bar at the bottom of the screen is at its maximum level. You'll see why they're called Super Art when you pull one off - the screen goes all blue and flashy. The resulting display of psychedelic aggression is similar to those dancefloor brawls in your local disco, only a lot more fun.
Are there any other groovy new features?
There's a spanking new parry mode with which to deflect attacks. This is pretty tricky at first, so you'll need to make use of the excellent Practice mode, whereby a cheeky fellow lobs basketballs at you. No pain, no gain and all that. The other cool new feature involves pressing two kick or punch buttons simultaneously to double the effect of a successful move.
Yoga flame!
Sadly, Dhalsim isn't in this one; he was a Street Fighter II character. However, both games on this disc feature the almost as rubber-limbed Elena. She's dead lanky and fights in only her pants and bra!
Must have forgotten her PE kit.
Guess so.
Do say...
Writhe in agony! Your body shows the anguish of defeat.
Don't say...
How do you do a Dragon Punch?
Excellent value - two Street Fighters for the price of one
It's so smooth that you'll think you're in an arcade, especially using the Dreamcast Arcade Stick
Super Art attacks are immensely satisfying
How many Street Fighters do we actually need?
Looks shocking next to Soul Calibur or Dead or Alive 2
