Mini-Review
Micro Machines Twin Turbo
Game Boy Color From: THQ

Codemasters' classic mini racers have always been warmly received on every console they've graced, and their Game Boy Color debut should attract a suitably friendly welcome. Micro Machines Twin Turbo is actually the first two games from the series, coloured and crammed onto one cartridge. It's virtually indistinguishable from its cousins on the big consoles, with its only negative point being the lack of a two-player link-up mode. If you want to race a friend, you have to cram around a single Game Boy, with one player using the D-pad and the other using the buttons. Not ideal, but potentially quite sociable.

Mini-Review
Battletanx
Game Boy Color From: 3DO

This was a pretty decent deathmatch game on N64, which spawned a good sequel and some excellent TV adverts in the States. On the Game Boy Color it's a lot more subdued, thanks to the loss of the multiplayer options and the inevitable dumbing down of the gameplay, but it still has a certain something. The aim of the game is simply to kill all the enemy tanks or find a particular object, and certain parts of the city landscapes can be destroyed to open new areas containing power-ups and bonuses. It's shallow stuff, but we can't think of any other Game Boy Color titles that let you roll over traffic lights and parked cars.
