So what's this Dragonsbane chap like?
Chap, or indeed chapess, we'll have you know. At the beginning of the game you can choose between Cynric, the mighty knight, or Aoewyn, the beautiful sorceress. For the early part of the game your choice seems to make no difference, apart from the obvious graphical variation. However, after each mission your skills will improve - Cynric will become harder while Aoewyn gets magickier.
You made that word up!
For sure. You know what we mean though, don't you?
I guess. How many levels are there?
There are 15 huge levels in Dragon's Blood, replete with trolls, goblins and the occasional dragon. Interplay promise that there are at least 30 different enemies in all. The Insectoid Queen is particularly impressive, in a giant, scary, mantis kind of way.
How about magic spells?
There are at least 20 different spells for your casting pleasure. We haven't managed to try any of them yet though, due to general poor gamesmanship.
But what does the game feel like?
It's a bit like Zelda on N64, only not as cute.
And not as good?
Probably not - Zelda was created by the most revered man in the game, Shigeru Miyamoto. Dragon's Blood is looking pretty nifty though, and Dreamcast is hardly inundated with games of this type. We reckon it should do pretty well.
Do say...
Fancy a slash?
Don't say...
Caution! Wizard is low on Elf
Tidy graphics with some impressive special effects
Impressive enemy AI
Mr Sulu from Star Trek does one of the voices
Fighting gets a bit repetitive after a (short) while
Not enough depth for the D&D hardcore
