Such as?
Hanging back near the side of the screen, going, "Hey! Wait a minute! There's some stuff over here to collect!" You also find each player races forward to reach treasures, keys and power-ups first.
Mmm. Can you play the original characters?
Warrior, Valkyrie, Archer and Wizard are available, and there are four new likely-looking characters on offer too: Minotaur, Tigress, Jackal and Falconess. If you're hankering after the Dwarf and the Elf as well, the original Gauntlet is said to be hidden in Legends somewhere.
And enemies?
There are over 50 of these to encounter, and there are bosses to deal with too. These take the shape of all sorts of nasty things, from spiders to dragons.
Nice. And what about power-ups?
Simply oodles of those, mate. Along with gold, keys and sustenance, you can find Fleet of Foot, Shrinking, Growth, Levitation, Three Way and Five Way shots, and many others. More than enough for anyone, we should think.
So what do you think: is Legends shaping up, or is it going to wind up running the, er, gauntlet?
As far as we can tell, it's taken the best elements of the last game - maze-like worlds, loads of collectibles, loads of enemies, action all the way - but it's taken up much of the PlayStation's power. Check out our full review (coming shortly) to see if all this adds up to a stinker or a stonker.
Do say...
It's just like old times!
Don't say...
It looks like old times.
Retains the original's gameplay
Loads of creatures and bosses
Loads of power-ups
Only two-player, not four
Graphics look a bit primitive
