Dribble. That'll be the Ronaldo-style runs then.
That's right. The control system is billed as innovative, but it doesn't really do anything that's groundbreaking. It does have a powerful shot though, which makes a change from lush-looking titles like Michael Owen which make you feel as if you're trying to kick a sack of spuds.
What about the graphics? I couldn't help but notice a catch when you mentioned that Ronaldo is a beautiful game in 'some ways'.
To us the game looks very ropy indeed at this early stage, and we can only hope that this aspect of Ronaldo can be improved upon before its release. Although in the cut-scenes the players and stadiums look magnificent, during actual play it looks more like Subbutteo.
Ah. Has it got all the players and teams?
It's got Ronaldo, hasn't it? What more do you want? But yes: it's got all the players of all the major international sides from all the continents, with names intact, and it's got the world's great national stadiums.
But has it got commentary? It's a shame when they cheat on that, like they did with ISS.
It hasn't just got commentary, mate - it's got Barry Davis, who is, as everyone knows, The King.
I'm sorry?
Oh, er... Nothing.
I should think so. So is Ronaldo going to steal the title from ISS?
It doesn't look anywhere near as cultured, you have to say, and the graphics need a lot of work. It is faster than a lot of footy sims around, though, which does make a pleasant change. Be sure to check our forthcoming review.
Do say...
It makes Michael Owen look a bit of a slouch.
Don't say...
Ronaldo? He's shit.
Fast
All the national teams, with correct names
A slightly different control system
Commentary by Bazza
Graphics need love and attention
