| Beetle Adventure Racing (N64) |
EA’s N64 racer has been getting the treatment in the FG offices of late. The single-player mode offers a surprising amount of longevity as new routes and short cuts are discovered and power-ups grabbed.
What’s really got us though is the frantic four-player ‘grab the ladybirds’ Beetle Battle. These ladybirds are scattered around an arena, see, and the idea is to grab them when they’re the right colour – they change colours every few seconds - and the first person to fill their ‘ladyometer’ wins. Much hilarity. The bog-standard, two-player, head-to-head mode’s a whole load of fun too but FG would have preferred it if there were some drone cars to blast past too.
The graphics are great, the game’s jolly good fun and Future Gamer recommend you venture forth to your nearest purveyor of all things N64-shaped and exchange some pounds sterling for a copy of the game. Beep! Beep!
