What’s this about four players?
Oh right, yeah. Eden are including a four-player-on-one PlayStation option. Only S.C.A.R.S has ever split the PlayStation into four windows in a racing game. Hopefully, this won’t affect the speed too much either.

And circuits?
Eden have put together some 200 stages based on 12 countries, but they’re cutting them down to under 100 (92, apparently) for the finished article, simply so they can pick out the best of the bunch. Whatever, it’s still a lot of tracks. Also, some of the stages will feature crossroads and shorts cuts, and there are varying weather conditions.

What about other features?
Eden promise lots of neat visual features for the sequel, including transparent car windows, where you can see the driver and co-driver - this feature is already in Sega Rally 2 on the Dreamcast. There’ll also be progressive visual and dynamic car damage as well as progressive dirty marks when you entertain mud.

Is it likely to be a Colin McRae beater?
Difficult, but V-Rally 2 should take McRae right to the last lap. Although some gamers didn’t like the way the original handled, with a bit of practice, you could really chuck the cars around the corners. Undoubtedly, the four-player, split-screen option will attract many. Although Colin McRae 2 is in production, V-Rally 2 should run it close.
