Snowboard Kids 2
N64 Release: June '99 From: Atlus

Choose your character. There’s an ugly bloke, an ugly bird, an ugly bloke with glasses, a fat ugly bloke…

Ever fancied strapping a deformed child to a plank and pushing it down a steep hill? If not, why not? It’s so much fun that Atlus have decided to do it again…
Andy Ashwin

Snowboard Kids was just Mario Kart 64 on snow!
Well… yes it was. It was tremendously good fun though, with all the tricks and power-ups. Another nice touch was the fact that you could pull off some rather impressive stunts without 10 years of intensive training.

Yeah, it was pretty good fun. But what’s new in the sequel?
There’s a nice selection of new characters and boards…

And…
… as if that’s not enough (there’s just no pleasing some people), there’s the all-new tracks, bosses and an updated trick system. The multiplayer mode has also been improved.

What are the new tracks like?
Varied and plentiful… well varied anyway. The tracks are truly bizarre in places – race on grass, mud and even snow! One minute you’ll be splashing through an underwater section or blasting uphill (with the help of a rocket power-up), the next you’ll be soaring through outer space. Crazy!

Are the power-ups any better than in the first game?
There are more of them and they are scattered liberally throughout the courses. You’ll find speed power-ups such as the rocket and the fan, offensive power-ups like the ice block and snowman and truly bizarre power-ups including a stack of plates – chuck them into the air and watch as they fall into the path of the boarder behind you.
