Top American makes including Chevrolet and Pontiac go head to head with Porsche and Ferrari
The ubiquitous Need For Speed returns. In its 3DO heyday, it was regarded as one of the most innovative racers on the grid. But that was then. And this is now.

It's not Gran Turismo, is it?
Grrrrrr...
I'm confused. How many Need For Speeds are there?
Okay. As far as the PlayStation is concerned, this is the fourth chapter. Need For Speed was released way back when in 1995. Then came the sequel which was bloody awful. Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit arrived about 12 months ago and it pretty much sets the scene for what we have here. Hot Pursuit, as the more perceptive among you may have gathered, introduced 'the car chase' to matters vehicular.
So you're saying that Road Challenge is more of the same?
Look, this is Electronic Arts we're talking about here! Of course it is. Find the formula, repeat to fade...
Car chases are always a laugh, aren't they?
Indeed. You can choose a BMW M5 with working siren and flashing lights. A friend may wish to pick something a little more powerful before you embark on cat-and-mouse shenanigans. EA have signed licences from car manufacturers including Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren (the ridiculously fast, and outrageously expensive F1), Pontiac, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Chevrolet and Mercedes. As you might imagine, some of these cars are difficult to catch when you're in Sweeney mode, but often as not, the more powerful the car, the more difficult it is to control.
